Top Ten Tuesday: Predicted 5-star Reads

ttt template (6)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Hey folks! Today’s TTT topic is your predicted 5 star reads, and honestly, I’m really bad at predicting what the heck books I’ll like, so most of these are by authors I’ve already read from. Whoops.

  • I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman – Alice Oseman has written some of my favourite books, and I really love everything she writes. I have no doubt that I’ll love this too.
  • Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare – I have been waiting for this for so?? Long?? I feel like Clare’s writing just gets better and better, and while I’m still avoiding thinking about The Wicked Powers lest I start writhing in agony, I do have a lot of faith in this series.
  • Circe by Madeline Miller – The Song of Achilles is one of my favourite books of all time and I’ve heard a lot about this one, but for some reason I still haven’t gotten around to it, despite believing I really will like this one.
  • The Electric Heir by Victoria Lee – The Fever King was one of the best books of 2019 for me, so I’m really excited to read The Electric Heir. I miss Noam and Dara so much???

  • The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar – This has the honor of being the only author I haven’t read before on this list, and that’s because this is a rivals to lovers f/f rom-com. Which. I love everything about that.
  • Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust – This book honestly just looks and sounds absolutely ethereal?? Also, I loved Girls Made of Snow and Glass so much, so I’m excited to read another f/f book from her.
  • The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee – I always love how Stacey Lee situates her Chinese characters in history (even if it’s American and I don’t know a lot about American history). My family’s been in North America for several generations, so I always feel such a connection reading about her characters.
  • The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang – Look, The Poppy War absolutely blew me away, and I am eagerly waiting for my hold to come in fron the library so I can read this book. I have no doubt that I’ll love this book too.

  1. I haven’t gotten around to Circe yet, either! I think it’s because something about the setting just feels like such a summer read, to me. Haven’t heard of Girl, Serpent, Thorn before, but added it to my TBR!

  2. Ooh I love seeing these kinds of lists! I Was Born For This was a 5-star read for me, and even though Circe wasn’t quite there, I still really loved it 😀 I hope all of these books live up to your expectations!!

  3. Chain of Gold made my list, too! And Circe is on my tbr for this year. I hope we both love them!
