TTT Dec 3: Winter Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Hello! I love winter. No, really; I complain about the snow a lot because I live in a frozen wasteland (thanks, Canada!) but I love being outside in winter, I love the cold, and I love how the streetlights reflecting off the snow makes the world feel muted and stopped for a few short hours. It’s really a perfect time for reading.

So! Here are some books that give me ~winter vibes~. No rhyme or reason.

  1. I love winter, but maybe that’s because I live in Arizona where it never gets snowy or icy! December usually has a chill in the air and SOMETIMES we actually have to break out sweaters and coats, but you still see people walking around in shorts because ARIZONA. Yeah. It never really feels like Christmas to me here, though, because we don’t have the kind of traditional winter I experienced growing up in the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy it for me, okay?

    Happy TTT!

  2. Winter is the perfect time for reading! We don’t get much snow in the Seattle-Tacoma area, but we do get gloomy or rainy days often. It definitely makes me want to read in the Winter.

Here are some holiday reads I would like to read: My Top Ten Tuesday.

  3. We don’t get much snow her in Texas anymore. We keep hoping. 😉 I read The Secret History this year, but was very surprised when I didn’t love it. I know I’m in the minority though. I did love The Goldfinch. And Ninth House is on my tbr!

    Happy Reading! My TTT

  4. I love your list and how it’s not focused on christmas themed books! All these books do give me cold and dark winter vibes especially the Leigh Bardugo book, I’m really looking forward to reading that one

  5. Great picks! Yours is the second I’ve seen The Secret History on this week and that makes me so very happy. What a wonderful book. And it’s so easy to slip into in the autumn and winter!
